go there to get a copy of your credit report (actually reports, because
there are three). It's a commercial website that has
strings attached to getting the reports and smothers you with advertising.
There's a really free website sponsored by the credit reporting agencies
to provide this completely free service as is required by the federal
government. You are allowed one free report per year from each
credit reporting agency.

You can get your reports by filling out some online forms, but they ask for a lot of information that takes time to fill out and is a little worrisome to send over the web. I download their simple form Here, fill it out once, make copies and mail a copy every year to Annual Credit Report Request Service P.O. Box 105281 Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. This is really free with no strings attached. |
