| Stains must be sealed before painting or they will bleed
through the paint. After cleaning the area, paint over the stain
with a white shellac sealer such as
B-I-N or with
or None of these are latex or water based, so I use a sponge rubber throw-away brush for spot sealing stains. If you have large areas consider a sponge roller. The shellac sealers (e.g., B-I-N) are alcohol based and dry very quickly, so if I had a large area I might use KILZ to slow drying down, otherwise I'd use B-I-N. |
